Abstract:

The incidence of chronic constipation is higher and higher, but theres is still a long way to go to achieve the standardization of the diagnosis and treatment.Especially for surgery, as operation itself is a double-edged sword.Although the cilnical effect of surgery on constipation has been recognised, the consensus for operative indication, the option and standarization of the procedure is far from agreement. This paper gives a brief overview of the surgical treatment for chronic constipaiton.
