Abstract:

Constipation is one of the common reasons for patients' clinical visits, and its incidence is increasing year by year with the changes in people's lifestyles and dietary structure. Surgery is an effective solution for persistent slow-transmitting constipation that is ineffective with strict medical treatment. It is particularly urgent to find a safe and effective surgical procedure that combines minimally invasive and cosmetic requirements. In this article, we report a case of laparoscopic subtotal resection combined with natural orifice specimen extraction surgery(NOSES) for the treatment of slow-transmitting constipation carried out in Affiliated Changshu Hospital of Soochow University, and discuss the feasibility, advantages and disadvantages, as well as the technical details of this surgical procedure.
