Abstract:

In the past decade, colorectal surgery in China has actively carried out new surgical procedures under the guidance of minimally invasive surgery, such as natural orifice specimen extraction surgery and transanal total mesorectal excision. Meanwhile, many accurate and minimally invasive equipments have been used, including three-dimensional/4K laparoscope and single-port surgical robot. In addition, new strategies containing enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) and total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) have been actively explored to improve the prognosis of patients. New ideas breed new surgeries, which further promote new equipments. Colorectal minimally invasive surgery is constantly breaking through the limit in the collision and communication. The article reviews the new development of minimally invasive surgical operations, equipment and strategies in the past decade.

Key words: Colorectal neoplasms, Minimally invasive surgical procedures, Transanal total mesorectal excision, Surgical robot, Total neoadjuvant therapy
