The progression of surgical treatment strategies for left colon cancer with obstruction

Abstract

Abstract:

Recently, the morbidity of colorectal cancer has been growing gradually owing to the change of dietary and living habit. Because of the long course of disease and huge tumor, about 10~30% colorectal cancer had bowel obstruction, which mostly happened to left colon or rectum. However, the treatments of left colon cancer with obstruction are still controversial. In our current study, we will discuss the surgical treatments and summarize the progression of treatment for left half colon cancer with obstruction.
