Abstract:
Objective To assess the correlation of colorectal cancer patients’ preoperative serum CA19-9, TPS, CEA levels with patients’ age, gender, tumors’ differentiation, location, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and TNM stages etc.
Method Retrospectively analyze clinical and pathological data of 615 colorectal cancer patients who underwent operations in Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Cancer Hospital in 2010 applying χ2 test and t-test.
Results Serum CA19-9 and CEA level were of greater significances in preoperative staging for patients with colorectal cancer, and could predict the depth of tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis, and vascular invasion, so as to predict the prognosis.And compared with value, positive rate is more valuable.For early stage(0, Ι period)patients, TPS positive rate is significantly higher than the other two markers, so it is more sensitive for the early detection of the disease.Combined application can significantly improve the detection rate of the disease.
Conclusion Preoperative serum CEA, CA19-9 and TPS levels of colorectal cancer patients contribute to preoperative staging and prognosis predicting, and should be routinely examined and combinedly applied.
