Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the association between H.pylori infection and colon polyps.

Methods

Patients were selected in this study since January 2014 to May 2015. Two hundred patients were diagnosed colon polyps using colonoscopy and pathological biopsy, and 200 patients without colon polyps as the control group. All the patients underwent 13C-UBT tests, Chi-square tests were performed to determine statistically significance between groups(P<0.05).

Results

The percentage of H.pylori-positive patients with colonic polyps was lower than those H.pylori-negative without colon polyps, the prevalence was not statistically signifficant.

Conclusion

This study did not show the relevance between H.pylori infections and occurrences of colonic polyps.

Key words: Colon, Adenoma, Helicobacter pylori, 13C-UBT
