Report of laparoscopic resection of colorectal carcinoma on 196 cases

Objective

To study the clinical efficacy and feasibility of laparoscopic operation for colorectal carcinoma.

Methods

The clinical data of 196 cases from October 2012 to April 2015 in Nanyang Medical College First Affiliated Hospital which underwent laparoscopic operation for colorectal carcinoma were retrospectively analyzed.

Results

All the 196 cases were treated laparoscopic operation successfully, no cases were converted to laparotomy, the intra-operation blood loss 50~200 ml, the average was 80 ml. The average operation time was 2 hours. the average post-operation hospital stay was 10 days, the average time for post-operation eating was 48 hours. Anastomotic leakage occurred in 1 case, incision infection 2 cases, no peri-operative deaths.

Conclusions

Laparoscopic operation for colorectal carcinoma has the advantages of mini-invasion, low incidence of post-operative complications, quick recovery, and clear operation anatomy, safe and feasible, so it can reach to satisfactory clinical results.
