Abstract:

Natural orifice specimen extraction surgery (NOSES) has been widely used in the surgical treatment of colorectal cancers. But its application in laparoscopic right hemicolectomy is limited, because of the kinking and the narrowing of colon and the enormous size of the specimen. Previous studies have demonstrated that the vagina and the anus can be used for specimen extraction, but both approaches need an extra incision which can lead to additional trauma. This article introduces a case of laparoscopic right hemicolectomy with colonoscope-assisted transluminal natural orifice specimen extraction.
