Establishment and practice of MDT model for colorectal cancer

Abstract:

Objective

To explore the establishment and promotion of Multidisciplinary team (MDT) model related issues by analyze the colorectal cancer patients data from PLA General Hospital.

Methods

The results of MDT treatment and patients compliance in PLA General Hospital from January 2015 to March 2017 were analyzed retrospectively.

Results

There are 288 cases and 305 MDT treatment were enrolled in this study, The main purpose of MDT was treatment (73.8%), and MDT was mainly based on chemotherapy (57.4%). Follow up results showed that 245 patients (85.1%) performed MDT decisions, with the expected number of patients (219 cases) significantly higher than the other patients (26patients).

Conclusions

MDT model is of great significance in the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer, and is worthy of further study and extensive promotion in China.
