Effects of whole course high quality nursing on emotion and quality of life in patients with colorectal cancer

Abstract:

Objective

To study the effect of whole course high quality nursing on emotion and quality of life in patients with colorectal cancer.

Methods

From March 2015 to May 2016 in Harbin Medical University Cancer Hospital, 104 cases of patients with colorectal cancer were diagnosis and treatment. All patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group with 52 cases in each group. The control group were given routine nursing intervention, the observation group were treated with the whole quality of nursing intervention, the effects of two groups were compared.

Results

HAMA, HAMD scores of the two groups after treatment were significantly lower than the scores of before treatment, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (t=10.280, 10.469; P<0.05), the scores of spirit, psychology, diet, and sleep quality of the observation group were significantly higher than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (t=3.292, 3.846, 4.367, 4.369; P<0.05), the observation group decannulation rate and complication rate were 1.92% (1/ 52), 3.85% (2/52), which were significantly lower than the control group 26.92% (14/52), 30.77% (16/52), the differences were statistically significant (χ2=13.166, 13.168; P<0.05), the satisfaction degree of the observation group was 96.15% (50/52), which was significantly higher than the control group 82.69% (43/52), all above of the differences were statistically significant (χ2=4.981; P=0.026).

Conclusion

The whole course quality nursing can effectively improve the anxiety, depression, and improve the quality of life of patients with colorectal cancer, and reduce the incidence of the tube and the incidence of complications.
