Abstract:

Objective

The aim of study is to investigate the expression of hBmal1 gene in human colon carcinoma tissue and their relation to invasion and metabasis of colon carcinoma.

Methods

Immunochemical staining was performed to detect the expression of hBmal1 protein in 30 cases of colon carcinoma tissues and 30 cases of normal tissues from Cancer Hospital of Hubei Province.

Results

The positive expression rate of hBmal1 in colon carcinoma tissues and in adjacent noncancerous tissues were 76.67% (23/30) vs 26.67% (8/30) (χ2=15.016, P<0.01). The strong positive expression rate of hBmal1 in B and C Dukes stage of were 46.15% (6/13) vs 88.24% (15/17) (χ2=6.212, P=0.013).

Conclusions

Increased expression of hBmal1 gene contributes to occurrence and development of colon carcinoma.

Key words: Colon neoplasms, Gene expression, Rhythm gene, hBmal1 gene
