Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the security and feasibility analysis of resection for synchronous colorectal carcinoma liver metastasis at the same stage.

Methods

Twenty six colorectal cancer with hepatic metastasis patients were selected between August 2013 and May 2015 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University and treated by the simultaneous resected surgery of the primary cancer and hepatic metastasis. At the same time, we investigated the total surgery procedure of feasibility, security and effect of treatment.

Results

The surgical operation procedure of 26 patients were completely successful. There are 16 patients with simultaneous laparoscopic resection of the colorectal cancer and liver metastasis surgery. The other cases were accepted laparoscopic resection the colorectal cancer plus liver metastases resection with open surgery. The mean operation time was (205.12±49.09) min. The mean account of operation bleeding loss was (296.84±376.53) ml. The mean postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery time was (2.62±0.56) d. The mean postoperative hospital stay was (13.92±6.80) d. The postoperative abdominal infection occurred in 2 cases, intestinal fistula in 1 case, 1 case with spontaneous pneumothorax. The rest were recovered well.

Conclusions

First phase of the laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer primary tumors and liver metastatic carcinoma resection is safe and feasible, it has a good curative effect and positive prospect.
