Clinical effect of tissue selection theropy on outlet obstructive constipation

Abstract:

Objective

The objective of this study was to discuss the therapeutic efficacy of tissue selection therapy(TST)on treating outlet obstructive constipation(OOC).

Methods

The 72 patients with this disease were treated by TST and observed for postoperative clinical symptoms and related complications, which were quantization and compared afterwards.

Results

the average operative time was 35 minutes(25-45 minutes), the average intraoperative blood loss as 20ml(10-50ml); no other complications occurred except anal stenosis(1 case), anastomotic bleeding(2 cases), temporary anal gas incontinence(3 cases), temporary fecal urgency(6 cases); the postoperative scores of fecal frequency, defecation sense, sensation of rectal tenesmus, defecating way and defecating time were significantly lower than before(P<0.05). Of the 72 patients, 51 got cured, 16 improved and 5 inefficient, the total effective rate was 93.1%(67/72). During the follow up(3-24 months, mean 13.6 months), no recurrence was found.

Conclusion

TST is simpler in manipulation, with less surgical trauma and complications in the treatment of OOC, and the short term therapeutic efficacy is satisfactory.
