Abstract:

Objective

To explore the application effect of establishing and implementing standard operating procedure (SOP) in the process of ERAS (enhanced recovery after surgery) nursing for elderly patients with laparoscopic radical operation of colorectal cancer during perioperative period.

Methods

Sixty elderly patients with laparoscopic radical operation of colorectal cancer who were admitted into the Qinghai University Affiliated Hospital and underwent ERAS nursing from September 2018 to June 2019 were randomly divided into 30 cases (standardized group) and routine accelerated rehabilitation surgery nursing group (control group), according to the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The nursing quality score, patient satisfaction and incidence of adverse events were compared between the two groups.

Results

The nursing quality scores were compared between the two groups. Among them, there were statistically significant differences in nursing evaluation (t=4.030, P<0.001), health education (t=4.151, P=0.001), special nursing (t=2.688, P=0.0094) and nursing record and writing (t=2.078, P=0.042) between the two groups. There was no significant difference in the basic nursing score between the two groups (t=0.5678, P=0.5723). There were significant differences in preoperative satisfaction between the two groups (χ2=4.043, P=0.044), postoperative satisfaction (χ2=5.192, P=0.023), and discharge follow-up satisfaction (χ2=2.308, P=0.126). For the occurrence of adverse events, there were 2 cases (6.67%) in the control group and 1 case (3.33%) in the standardization group, and there was no significant difference between the two groups.

Conclusion

SOP was established and implemented in the process of ERAS nursing for elderly patients with laparoscopic radical operation of colorectal cancer during perioperative period, which can make the ERAS nursing work more scientific, standardized and programmed, improve the quality of ERAS nursing work, reduce the incidence of adverse events in elderly patients, and contribute to improving the professional quality of nursing team.
