Protective enterostomy in radical resection of rectal cancer

Abstract

Abstract:

Rectal cancer is one of the malignant tumors with high morbidity. Radical resection of rectal cancer is an important method for the treatment of rectal cancer, protective enterostomy which can reduce the adverse effects of anastomotic leakage and save the lives in some ways. This article will summarize and discuss the related problems of protective enterostomy in radical resection of rectal cancer, mainly including the advantages and disadvantages of protective enterostomy, the opportunity of opening and returning, chance of becoming permanent enterostomy and related psychological problems.
