Collagen in colorectal cancer: current status and perspectives

Abstract:

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the most common malignant tumor of digestive tract in the world. The incidence of CRC is increasing year by year. Collagen is the main component of extracellular matrix, which is crucial to the maintenance of tumor microenvironment (TME) and plays an important role in the occurrence, development and metastasis of CRC. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the role of collagen in CRC. This article makes a systematical review of the collagen-related researches in CRC in domestic and overseas.
