The detection methods and clinical applications of circulation tumor cells

Abstract

Abstract:

Circulating tumor cells (CTC) are tumor cellular subpopulations in the peripheral circulation derived from primary or metastases, and play an important role in tumor progression, metastasis and recurrence. The effective detection and purification of CTC is especially important for the clinical application and the further analysis of mechanism of tumor progression, metastasis and recurrence. Also, it may provide the individualized treatment for tumor patients in the future.
